Designer Profile: Zuhair Murad

Zuhair Murad is a designer that is all around amazing, he not only is an amazing bridal designer but his ready to wear and couture collections are outstanding as well! He started designing in 1997, starting small and building a private client group first! Although he had always been interested in designing, as a child he recalled never letting a pen leave his hand because he always wanted to draw and explore designs! Zuhair showed his first couture designs at Haute Couture week in Paris in 2001, this gave him international coverage and more media spreading!! In 2005 Zuhair designed and showed his first ready to wear collection, it was to further expand his client base, the designs were simple yet aesthetically glamorous.

In 2012 Zuhair Murad moved his fashion house to an 11 story building in Gemmayze, in the hear of Beirut, this is not only offices but also houses some key designers, pattern makers, tailors and embroidery experts. In 2014 he finally incorporated the bridal section into his fashion house, this is where the wedding gowns are sold and displayed. Now bringing us to 2015 he has another office in Paris, that screams his style!!

The 2017 bridal collection caught my eye when I was looking through designers, the collection is stunning and has a ton of character! The lace and embroidery work on these are amazing and shows the skill of this brand! The colours are classic and amazing with the pearly white and off white. Truly amazing and a great idea of whats to come in 2017 bridal!

Biggest wedding dress tends to come: keep an eye open!!

Trends change all the time, they evolve and adapt to the times! Wedding dress trends also change, not at such a rapid pace but still changing with every season that new brands and designers come up with different ideas. There are always going to be timeless lines and collecting that have key styles, but you can be sure that puffy 80’s sleeves are not going to be coming back anytime soon!

One of the main focuses and statements of bridal 2016 so far has been sheer dresses, lace and all the linen that you can think of! Spanish inspired design houses like Naeem Kahn are very on point with this, the spring 2016 side of trends within the industry! Most of the retailed lines are shown as nude but not nude so that you feel comfortable wearing it around your family, there is something for everyone! The key of finding your perfect nude dress is making sure it shows off all the right assets, and tastefully accentuates your body in the perfect way for your special day!

Colour trends to come do include the light pale pinks and mint greens, but 2016 so far has been a pretty dark year, with the darker colours becoming more of a trend! Deep reds and modern gothic looks and moody have a romantic feeling. Designers like Inbal Dror and Vera Wang have been expressing this in recent collections.

Designer Angel Sanchez has added 3D floral applications to collections, which is personally my favourite and adds such a perfect touch to the dress, they are not overpowering but they have a simple and elegant touch to the dresses, plus flowers are just amazing!

Silhouettes are always fun to play with in the bridal industry! Oscar de la Renta often plays with the classic sweet but modern take on the silhouettes, but the dresses and gowns are amazing every time!

As long as you feel amazing in the dress it doesn't really matter if it follows the trends, you need to make yourself happy first!

Designer Profile: Sareh Nouri

Sareh Nouri is a well known bridal gown designer based out of New York. She has had a passion for wedding dresses and design ever since she was just a child. One interesting fact about Sareh is that she started out her career by creating her own wedding dress; she was not pleased with any of her options that were out there in the market for her. Her passion soon became something so much bigger!! She wanted to create for other women that had the same problem she did; a women having a vision in her head of what would be perfect for her wedding day!! And here she is today!!

Sareh did not initially have an intention to become a wedding gown designer even though she loves weddings and dresses all of her life. She attended George Mason University and graduated with a degree from graphic design, so she did have a back up plan if she did not become successful when designing dresses for lovely women. Being a native of Iran, Sareh takes inspiration from beautiful Persian traditional art. She works very closely with pattern drafter and highly trained dress makers to create all of her beautiful couture gowns. All of the collections and pieces she designs have both a sense of tradition and whimsical details within them, showing off both sides of todays modern bride and appealing to their needs and wants. Sareh Nouri collection gowns can be found all over the world in bridal boutiques!

These gowns are truly beautiful and amazing designs!! There is a trunk show for this particular designer, at Mona Lisa Bridal Gallery on April 29th and 30th, you need to sign up ahead of time for this event so make sure you check out the website for further details : www.monalisabridalgallery.com . The Address is 8099 Weston Road, Unit 2, Vaughn, Ontario, Phone number for the showroom is 905-851-0555 .

“I believe finding a wedding dress is like finding a true friend; you should be able to trust it, you should never regret it, and whenever you see it… it should always make you smile.” Sareh Nouri
