Modern Minimalism: Wedding style!!

Sometimes the less you how is better! Minimalism is an amazing style that is for those who love a good simple colour or style and would like to show it all over the wedding or event you are hosting! Having a minimalist wedding is very easy you really just have to stick to one colour, usually white.

To pull of the minimalist look you need to have as little as possible or make it look like there is as little as possible out (make it deceivingly detailed), there can be cute decor like lights and florals but mainly just one colour of floral, the trend in 2016 so far has been to use green and greenery around, lots of succulents, lots of geometric holders and containers to fill the table spaces with. There has been a trend of having clear glass as well, there is a way that you can make the table look flawless by adding a little amount of decorations and just making it personal.

The overall appeal of the wedding has to be minimal if you are going to try to achieve this. This can also be cost effective, you wont have to buy as many supplies to create the biggest wedding ever. With the brides and grooms you can also achieve the look of minimalism with simple dresses and colours, a simple tie or bow tie for the men is perfect and thats all you need! For the bouquet you can keep it to one colour, maybe a pop of colour or just even a simple white bouquet with hints of another colour from your wedding in it would be perfect! The hair styles and trends of the times can also make a big influence on what you consider to be minimalist. The simple tied back hair with a detailed piece in it could be perfect for the whole attire! It depends on what type of look you are going for and it really is a person preference, you have to be in love with your day, don't try to impress anyone else!

Designer Profile: Zuhair Murad

Zuhair Murad is a designer that is all around amazing, he not only is an amazing bridal designer but his ready to wear and couture collections are outstanding as well! He started designing in 1997, starting small and building a private client group first! Although he had always been interested in designing, as a child he recalled never letting a pen leave his hand because he always wanted to draw and explore designs! Zuhair showed his first couture designs at Haute Couture week in Paris in 2001, this gave him international coverage and more media spreading!! In 2005 Zuhair designed and showed his first ready to wear collection, it was to further expand his client base, the designs were simple yet aesthetically glamorous.

In 2012 Zuhair Murad moved his fashion house to an 11 story building in Gemmayze, in the hear of Beirut, this is not only offices but also houses some key designers, pattern makers, tailors and embroidery experts. In 2014 he finally incorporated the bridal section into his fashion house, this is where the wedding gowns are sold and displayed. Now bringing us to 2015 he has another office in Paris, that screams his style!!

The 2017 bridal collection caught my eye when I was looking through designers, the collection is stunning and has a ton of character! The lace and embroidery work on these are amazing and shows the skill of this brand! The colours are classic and amazing with the pearly white and off white. Truly amazing and a great idea of whats to come in 2017 bridal!

Red and White weddings!!

Happy Canada Day everyone! today we celebrate the country that supports its people in what they do and helps them in acts of freedom and rights!! I may be bias but I love Canada and I would not want to live anywhere else!!

To celebrate this day we will look into the colour scheme of red and white weddings!! These can be elegant and classy without trying! Adding a simple touch of red to a strictly white wedding can be amazing and just what it need to give it some character!

You can add a simple touch of red roses anywhere, a candle that is red on the tables, some red sashes around the chairs and even on a bridal gown that could be white already! So many options to incorporate red and white into a wedding! I do think this colour scheme works better in a winter or fall season rather than a summer or spring simply because the colours are darker and red goes well with darker tones, in spring and summer the colours are trending and vibrant to look at to compliment the warmer weather!!

Red and white are a classic combination and not just used on Canada day!

Bridal Veil styles!

Choosing to wear a veil at your wedding is a personal choice! They are so beautiful and there are so many types to choose from it can be confusing! The veils are most commonly thought of as a sign of modestly but they are really a sign roof personality and what you would like to portray. Veils are a great additive detail to your day to just make it the best!

There are a ton of different types of veils you can explore: there is the birdcage, the blusher, the fly away, the elbow, the fingertip, ballet, chapel, cathedral, Juliet cap, and the mantilla. All beautiful styles in their own ways, some are meant and designed for a certain person.

The birdcage is more of a personalized veil for the vintage bride, the fabric seems to bee more of a subtle pattern and very sheer. This is also a very short veil that is only meant to cover the face. Another short veil is the blusher veil, this one has no pattern but seems to be very whimsical, it appears to be flowing and very loose but short! The fly away veil is a veil that is medium in length and has a lot of volume within it, it sits further at the back of the head! The elbow veil is pretty much self explanatory, it go to the elbow and most of the time has some detailing at the ends, little lace details and beautiful! The fingertip veil is a fingertip length veil and it is a beautiful length, the flowing nature and the volume is great for any figure! There is the ballet veil that is a little bit longer then the fingertips, it falls perfectly on any body type! The chapel and cathedral veils are more traditional and typically european, they are very very beautiful and long, they usually touch the ground and add onto the design of the dress! The Juliet cap is a veil that sits closer to the back of the head, and usually has some detailing on the sides to hold it up, it is very flow and varies in length! Lastly the mantilla veil, the design is beautiful and has a lot of detail, this is once again more of a vintage veil, the detailing is lace and embroidery mostly, also being one of the shorter to medium length veils this makes a great statement to any dress!

Veils are so different and unique they make the perfect decoration and little piece of detail in your gown or dress. Truly beautiful!!
