Wedding planning timeline

Congratulations!! He finally popped the big question!

You are probably filled with excitement but maybe don't know what to do next and how to begin planning.

Here is a rough timeline of how to prioritize your time and what needs to be done when:

12+ months:

-choose a wedding date -establish a budget -choose wedding theme or style -pick your wedding party -schedule engagement photos -have an engagement party -start compiling a guest list -research potential venues -research wedding dress styles and begin shopping

10-12 months:

-mail save the dates -research florists -book ceremony and reception venues -book officiant -book desires vendors -purchase wedding dress

8-10 months:

-research hotels near venue for yourself and guests to stay at after wedding -finalize guest list -choose bridesmaids dresses -resisted for gifts -book florist

6-8 months:

-decide on wedding cake style and flavor -research wedding favors -research hair and makeup and book stylist -meet with officiant and plan ceremony -start planning honeymoon -chose grooms and grooms men's attires -book transpiration to and from venue -purchase wedding bands -book rehearsal venue/dinner -research wedding invitation styles

4-6 months:

-order wedding invitations -order wedding cake -book accommodations for wedding night -book honeymoon -decide on floral arrangements with florist -schedule dress fittings and alterations -decide on DJ playlist -order favors

3 months:

-finalize ceremony timeline -purchase wedding decor add ons -order bridal party gifts -finalize reception menu -order menu cards

2 months:

-mail invitations -organize RSVP's -write wedding vows -review ceremony details with officiant -apply for marriage license -finalize seating arrangements -create wedding day schedule for everyone to have

1 month:

-final dress fitting -pick up wedding rings -confirm honeymoon reservations -confirm details with vendors -pick up marriage license

1-2 weeks:

-follow up with any guests who haven't rsvp'd

  • give final head count to caterer -get final haircut and color -final payments to vendors -provide any readers with their scripts -deliver "must have" image list to photographer

The day before:

-make sure everything is laid out and packed for tomorrow (essentials like wedding dress, rings, accessories, speeches, and marriage license) -get manicure and pedicure -attend wedding rehearsal -get your beauty sleep and don't stay up too late!

THE BIG DAY:

-eat a big healthy breakfast -give the best man wedding rings
